Team Gear Return Date Set

The final coaches gear return date is set.  It's September 11th, from 9:00am to 9:45am. If you still have team gear and can't get there on the 11th, ask one of your assistant coaches to help you.

Meanwhile, here's what you can do in advance to get your gear ready for return:

- We need for you to take everything out of the gear bag and clean it all as best you can.  We rely on you to do this because we don't have any way to clean gear at the Lockup.   If you got dirty gear this year it was because someone returned it that way last year, so let's help each other out!  Also, don't repack it until everything is dry.  Wet gear mildews over the winter.  When you do repack it, throw away the trash and any remaining cold packs.  If cold packs are left in your bag and break, the chemical in them damages the gear.  So, we don't want them back.  You're welcome to keep them.

-  Also, clean out your ball bag.  There should only be baseballs in it, no food wrappers, cold packs or other items.

-  Finally, we want your remaining practice balls and unused game balls returned.

"Thanks" for the many hours you spent coaching!

You made a difference!!

Great First Year

The Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League just completed it's first year.  As one of the  founding communities, we're pleased to report that all of our travel teams participated in the league and had a terrific experience.

Not only did the travel league have an outstanding year, so did our travel teams.  We had teams in 10 of the 12 championship games.  Our 13 Black, 12 Green, 11 Green and 9 Black teams won their league championships.  Our 14 Green, 14 Black, 10 Green, 10 White, 9 Green and 9 White finished in 2nd place in their leagues.

On behalf of Northbrook Baseball, congratulations to the LSFBL on a GREAT first year.  We're all looking forward to next year!

We tried to avoid conflicts with the fall sports.  However, it was impossible to avoid them all.

Important Notes:

 - New this year, the 10 year old travel team tryouts are being held in the fall, unlike other years when they were in the spring.  Only the 9 year old tryouts will still be held next spring.

 - Parents must read the Program Explanation before bringing their players to the tryouts.  It can be found through the Travel Team's Info link in the left column.  Pay special attention to the age and house league requirements.

You Rate the Coaches

Both House and Travel Coaches

Each year we ask parents to give us feedback about their son's coach(es).  Ratings forms are available through the Rate the Coaches link in the left column.  In addition to answering the listed questions, feel free to add additional comments to the form.

We need the travel coaches ratings forms back ASAP because the 2011 tryouts are in September.  We'll accept your house league coaches ratings forms until early January.  That's when we select coaches for the 2011 house league season.

Thanks for the feedback!  We really do listen!!

Annual Meeting & Elections

Our Annual Meeting and Election of directors will be  held on September 27th, at the Northbrook Library.  The meeting starts at 6:30pm with a State of the League address.  Following that will be the elections.  There's seven board seats being voted on.  There'll also be an open forum.  It's a great opportunity to ask questions of the entire board of directors.
